About Farm Radio and Chris Brown

Farm Radio is the favorite brainchild of long time rural journalist and small acreage farmer, Chris Brown.

Chris has been the editor and presenter of the National Rural News, heard on commercial radio around Australia, as well as hosting a weekly agri-political radio program for more than 13 years.

Chris was the first person in Australia to audio-stream a rural radio program over the Internet.

Farm Radio brings together several programs hosted by Chris:

• Lifestyle Farmer – designed for small acreage farmers
• Innovation Radio – the latest research in the sheep industry
• Harvest Radio – research and development in Australia’s grains industry.

Chris has big plans for the Farm Radio website. He wants to make it an important hub of information for small acreage farmers and, through Farm Radio Forums, a venue for small farmers to swap ideas. Small acreage farmers are not represented by any association and Chris would like the Farm Radio site to at least serve as a venue to discuss issues that affect them. In the near future, Farm Radio will also include a “News” section and a constantly updated Links page offering links to websites of interest and importance to small acreage farmers.
