Farming's Contribution to Climate Change



The greenhouse gases we produce contribute to global warming.

Two important greenhouse gases are methane and nitrous oxide both produced in abundance on Australian farms.

Methane is 21 times more potent than carbon dioxide while nitrous oxide has 310 the effect of Co2.

We speak with leading Australian greenhouse scientist, Dr Richard Eckard from the University of Melbourne.
