Get Set,

Nothing worse than waiting for a nice calm day for a spot of weed control only to find you have a problem with your spray unit because it has not been used for 6 months.

Calm days can be hard to find during Spring, so make sure you check your gear well in advance of when you are likely to need it.

If you are using chemical to control your weeds find out if you will also need to mix in a surfactant. Surfactants help the chemical to be absorbed by the leaf of the weed by clinging to the leaf rather than running off onto the ground.

Speaking of running off onto the ground, set your spray nozzle so that rather than drowning the plant with chemical you are giving it a good all over coating. However, the finer the spray, the more likelihood of spray drift, which may not please your neighbours. So if there is a bit of a breeze blowing increase the size of the spray droplets.
